Mark Schellinger
Mark Schellinger is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of BayView Capital. Mark has significant experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and operations. He has been involved in all aspects of the investment process, including deal qualification, transaction execution, portfolio oversight and realization.
Prior to co-founding BayView, Mark was an investment professional at The Gores Group, a leading operationally focused middle-market private equity firm with approximately $4.1 billion of capital under management. Mark was primarily involved in the evaluation and execution of potential acquisition opportunities. In this capacity, Mark worked closely with subject matter experts to identify strategic initiatives that could create value post acquisition. Additionally, Mark worked closely with senior management to identify additional acquisition opportunities and help analyze the financial performance of existing portfolio companies.
Prior to The Gores Group, Mark was an investment banker in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of Jefferies & Company, where he was involved in a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions, strategic advisory and capital markets financings for clients across multiple industries.
Mark holds a Masters in Professional Accounting and a BBA in Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas.
In his free time, Mark’s interests and activities include: basketball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, world travel and struggling on the golf course.
Ryan Baxter
Ryan Baxter is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of BayView Capital. Ryan has significant experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and operations. He has been involved in all aspects of the investment process, including deal qualification, transaction execution, portfolio oversight and realization.
Prior to founding BayView Capital, Ryan was an investment professional with Odyssey Investment Partners, a leading middle-market private equity firm with more than $3 billion of capital under management. Ryan was primarily involved in the evaluation and execution of potential acquisitions as well as monitoring the operations of existing portfolio companies. Ryan worked directly with Odyssey portfolio CEOs, CFOs and other senior management to address operational issues as well as assess and execute strategic add-on acquisitions.
Prior to Odyssey, Ryan was an investment banker with Bank of America in the Financial Sponsors Group, where he focused on providing financing and advisory services for private equity clients across a wide variety of industries. While at Bank of America, Ryan executed over $14 billion of leveraged finance transactions for leading private equity firms such as, The Carlyle Group, Apollo Global Management, Thomas H. Lee Partners, Oaktree Capital Management, Investcorp Group, Cerberus Capital Management and Vestar Capital Partners.
Ryan holds a BS in Economics cum laude with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
